The reason most wedding food tastes the way it does.

The reason most wedding food tastes the way it does has nothing to do with the menu.

Most caterers cook the meal somewhere else entirely, pack it into hot boxes, and reheat it when they arrive. That is the standard. It is also why so much wedding food tastes the way it does. After all, take-out never tastes as good as it does when you are in the restaurant.

This is what makes us different.

At Create, we build a kitchen at your venue and cook on-site. Every dish is prepared fresh in the space where it will be served. A sear done on-site, a sauce finished at the right moment, a dish that arrives at the table the way it was meant to. These are not details most caterers can offer. We can, because we never left the kitchen behind.

The menu that goes into that kitchen is just as deliberate. We design every wedding menu from scratch, around the couple, the season, and the occasion. Not a package. Not a pre-set list of options to choose from. A menu that reflects what is actually worth serving at this moment in the year, built around who is gathering and what the evening calls for. The food tastes different because it was cooked here, tonight, for you. But it also tastes different because someone thought carefully about what it should be before a single ingredient was ordered.

That difference shows up on the plate. It also shows up in the room.

Jenna got married at the Dining Studio with 43 guests and wrote afterward that they had confidently ruined wedding food for themselves and every guest at the table. "Truly one of the best meals we have ever had. Create gave us the exact wedding we wanted and more."

Annie hosted 150 guests at the Glass House in early September. Her guests said it was the best wedding food they had ever had.

Wendee's daughter got married at the MIA. Joan coordinated the entire event, from vendor recommendations to the final farewell. Wendee wrote that Joan helped immeasurably, keeping the bride and mother of the bride completely on track through every detail.

For couples, that means a reception meal that actually reflects the care and intention you put into every other part of the day. For wedding planners, it means a culinary partner who executes without drama and makes you look exactly as good as you promised your clients you would.

We handle weddings of all sizes, from intimate receptions at the Dining Studio to large celebrations at venues across the Twin Cities and beyond.

If you have a date on the calendar or a client whose wedding is coming up, this is a good time to start. Reach out. We’re here.
